Comment / Flybe appears keen to show off its green credentials, with the latest batch of Q400s registered in the G-ECOx sequence. The first, G-ECOA, splashes down here on runway 05R.

Comment / Flybe recently announced an expansion of their Newcastle portfolio, introducing new services to Rennes and Aberdeen, whilst also taking over the three-times daily service to London Gatwick, from Jet2. After just a year on the route - last vacated by BA in March 2007 - it seems than Jet2 can't make the route viable with a 737. Flybe obviously think they can do better with their Q400s. We'll see...
